Jessica Hanlin, LCSW, RYT

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado, specializing in supporting mothers and families through their experiences with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and postpartum psychosis.  My clinical practice is rooted in journeying with pregnant and postpartum women as they navigate the waters of motherhood and the many emotional and physiological changes that occur before and after childbirth. My experience in supporting patients and families through hospice and end of life care over the last eight years has guided me to further exploration of support and care needs at the beginning of the life cycle, especially after becoming a new mother myself.

My own yoga practice deepened immensely after the birth of my daughter. Through my own personal experience with postpartum depression and anxiety, I learned the importance of grounding, breath work, and allowing time to turn inward, and I ultimately was led to complete a 200 hour yoga teacher training through Soul Tree Yoga in Lafayette, CO. I offer dynamic vinyasa flow and restorative classes. My compassionate, nurturing teaching style and integrative sequences give my students the opportunity to explore and deepen their own practice in a safe, sacred space.

I believe we have the opportunity to grow from each of our experiences, both on and off the mat, and I am honored to walk beside my students and clients as they navigate life's transitions, joys, and challenges, especially during the pregnancy and postpartum seasons.

I am a member of Postpartum Support International and have completed the PSI Certificate Training in assessment and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.  I received a Bachelors of Arts in Social Work degree from the University of Iowa in 2007 and completed a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Michigan Graduate School of Social Work in 2008.
